Two Days after Resurrection Day

Two Days after Resurrection Day
What had the priests done about the temple curtain which had torn from top to bottom?  Had they proceeded with the Passover sacrifices as if nothing was different?  Move along, move along, nothing to see here?
"Everyone" was still talking about the empty tomb, some to deny the resurrection, others to affirm it--not unlike today.
Some had probably gone about their business of daily life; what was one more dead or not dead Jew to them?
Some may have been in hiding, unsure what to make of it all.
Two days after Resurrection Day, which category do you fit into?  Do you offer your sacrifices of works still, expecting them to be necessary yet?  Do you talk about Easter and the great time you had celebrating it with family, friends, egg hunts, et al?  Do you shrug the story of the event off as having nothing to do with you?  Are you hiding your faith in Christ, unsure as to what response you will get from others should you reveal it?
Two days after...

The post I had not planned on writing

The post I had not planned on writing

April 4 during the lecture for Every Woman's Grace, these challenges were given as we looked at 2 Timothy 2:14-26.  These are far from the whole, but what came home to me:
any thing
any time
anywhere
any cost
in the pursuit of righteousness
being submissive to the Holy Spirit
am I willing to unlimit God?

From Judy who gave that lecture:
"The application fell under the point of being useful to the Master.  Is there any hesitation in your willingness to be used by Him?  Can you say to the Lord use me...anything, anytime, anywhere, at any cost... Of course that would mean total submission to the Holy Spirit."

Distractions during Holy Week

Distractions during Holy Week
I don't know about you, but when I am especially busy, I need to keep a list of tasks to be accomplished so I don't forget anything essential.  This is one of those weeks, and as I review my list, I realize how easy it is to be distracted even during Holy Week.
Nothing on my list is particularly evil or bad or wrong, but how easy it is to be like one of those who went to the temple that week and did not pay attention to the Truth Incarnate, who were perhaps even slightly irritated by the additional hubbub His presence caused.
Not good.  What I need to do is plan my week around His week, be intentional in that, and leave the accomplishing of all both temporal and eternal to Him, to whom I offer my person in His service.
