What To Do If...
Have you ever wondered about the training of and materials provided to those of us who work in the polling places for elections? As poll workers here in Los Angeles County, CA, one of the resources we are given is a booklet with the title, "What To Do If..." This contains situations which may arise during the day and recommentations as to how to deal with them.
We are encouraged to become familiar with "What To Do If..." well in advance of the day itself, and to have it at hand during the day of the election. And after each election is over, it is open to revision before the next one. But however comprehensive that booklet purports to be, no one can think of every possibility which may arise.
The Bible is different. It is not a human creation with all the weaknesses humans have. It does guide us in the "What To Do If ..." situations of life. The Bible alone requires no revision as God has thought of every possible situation and made provision for us to be able to deal with whatever circumstances we face.
Remember Proverbs 3:5-6, for example, and apply it whenever you ask "what to do if ..."
Read a chapter from the letter of James each day from Monday through Friday, then start over with chapter one the following Monday, doing so as you seek to gain God's perspective on "what do do if ..." in the workplace.
The Bible is the one place you can count on to direct you rightly in any "what to do if ..." in your life.
